The World Wide Web. You gotta love it. For the most part what's available on the web follows Sturgeon's Law rather closely, but there are many useful sites, with a lot of great information. Herewith, some of our favorites.

The Whiteman Airport Association is an alliance between Whiteman tenants, American Airports Corporation management, Los Angeles County, the Whiteman Control Tower and the Pacoima area community. The goal is to keep the airport open and operating efficiently and safely. It will enable all parties concerned with the airport to work together toward that goal. You should be a member!

Is your airport safe from development? Do your local government representatives understand its value to the community? Not really sure? Do you believe that "no news is good news"? Are you sure that a developer isn't already creating a "business relationship" with your city council? The California Pilots Association is one of the most important organizations at the forefront of the fight to keep California's airports open. They deserve your support.

The Van Nuys Propeller Aircraft Association is an organization of aircraft owners, pilots, aviation enthusiasts, homeowners, business operators and other individuals who have joined together to promote and enhance community awareness of general aviation and to assure that propeller aircraft and related businesses maintain a presence at Van Nuys Airport.

The Ninety-Nines is an international organization of licensed women pilots from 35 countries. This organization was founded in 1929 for the mutual support and advancement of women in aviation. In 1931 Amelia Earhart was elected as first president and the group was named for the 99 charter members. Many of our Chapter 40 members are also members of the local chapter, The San Fernando Valley Ninety-Nines.

There are reference materials available on the web. Just in case you've misplaced your dog-eared copy, The Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) are available online.

Not sure if your favorite arrival at an uncontrolled field: "Hey, Y'all! I'm comin' on in!" is one of the approved methods? The Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM) can clear up any confusion.

Getting tired of hearing "Say again?!" from ATC every time you call them up? The Pilot/Controller Glossary can help.
